GILLIG and RR.AI partner on next generation automated vehicle tech

USA – GILLIG LLC of Livermore, California, has announced a partnership with autonomous driving specialist Robotic Research, based in Clarksburg, Maryland. Under the agreement, the two firms will collaborate to bring advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and Level 4 autonomous driving technology to GILLIG transit buses in North America.

The companies will develop and test safety features such as automatic emergency braking, precision docking, bus yard automation, blind spot detection, and pedestrian avoidance. GILLIG stated that its battery electric buses will be the first products to benefit from the technology improvements.
