Plug Power and Edison Motors to build prototype fuel-cell electric bus

USA / South KoreaPlug Power Inc, a hydrogen technology company based in Latham, New York, USA, is collaborating with Edison Motors Co Ltd in the development of a hydrogen fuel-cell electric city bus. The two companies aim to complete a prototype by the second half of this year, with mass production to follow in the first half of 2023. 

The city bus, tentatively named ‘SMART 110F’, will be fitted with a 125kW ‘ProGen’ fuel cell system by Plug Power and produced by Edison Motors for the South Korean market. The two companies have stated they plan to cooperate on other projects in the future, including hydrogen trucks.
