ZF supplies axles, air suspension and braking systems for the first Higer electric citybus for Brazil

Brazil / China - ZF do Brasil Ltda, headquartered in Sorocaba, São Paulo state, announced its parent company, ZF Group is the main drivetrain supplier to Higer Bus Company of Suzhou, China, for an electric bus that has started trials / tests with a city bus operator in the city of São Paulo; full scale operations of several electric Higer Bus buses are expected to start during the first half of 2022.

It is reasonable to conclude the tests with the Higer electric bus by an operator in São Paulo is in response to the announcement made at the end of last year by Mayor Ricardo Nunes of the municipal management plans, which are to have 2,400 electric buses (or buses powered by sustainable and zero emission fuels) by the end of 2024. This is the equivalent of 15 electric buses being delivered per week over three years.
