Germany - Voith GmbH & Co KGaA, a mechanical engineering firm and manufacturer of drive and braking systems based in Heidenheim an der Brenz, Baden-Württemberg, Germany, has announced that, as of 1 January 2022, its business operations are now climate neutral. This means that Voith’s net carbon output is negative, which it has achieved through a mixture of renewables and carbon offsets.

The company’s sites generate now generate their own energy from solar and hydropower in increasing amounts: currently, approximately 6 GWh of renewable energy is generated by Voith every year. The engineering firm is also trying to reduce the carbon footprint of its customer base by providing more sustainable and energy-efficient products.
