MAN breaks ground on site of Krakow truck plant extension

Germany / PolandMAN Truck & Bus SE, a commercial vehicle manufacturer and subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Munich, Bavaria, Germany, has conducted a ground-breaking ceremony on the site of an extension to the existing heavy-duty truck manufacturing facility in Krakow, Poland. Production at the new building, which represents an investment of approximately EUR130m, is set to begin in September 2022. 

The expansion of the Krakow facility will increase the size of the entire site by one third to 41 hectares, extending daily production capacity to around 300 vehicles. The number of employees at the site is set to triple, creating some 1,500 new jobs. The extension will comprise a 26,000m2 hall for cab production and another 10,000m2 dedicated to truck modification. MAN hopes to boost its annual revenue up to EUR1.7bn with the increased production capacity afforded by the expanded facility.
