Switch Mobility’s new production and R&D facility to be built near Valladolid, Spain

UK / Spain Switch Mobility Ltd, a subsidiary of India’s Ashok Leyland based in Sherburn in Elmet, UK, has confirmed that it will be building its Spanish production and R&D facility on a greenfield site near the city of Valladolid in the north of the country. 

The 140,000km2 site, where construction is due to begin on 18 March, represents an investment of GBP100m over the next ten years. Upon completion, the new facility will house the production of a new 12-metre electric bus for the European market. The announcement was made at a press conference hosted by Switch Mobility, whose attendees included Reyes Maroto Illera, Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism of the Government of Spain, Alfonso Fernández Mañueco, Regional President of the Government of Castilla y León, and Oscar Puente, Mayor of Valladolid.
