India’s heavy-duty tractor market shows signs of recovery in Q3

India - Tractor sales grew by 70.7% during the third quarter (October to December) during financial year 2021-22 (Q3:21/22 to register 6,910 units compared with 4,049 units in the same quarter of the previous year (FY20/21), with the heavy weight tractor segment being the main contributor to growth. Tractor production increased by 61% overall from 4,236 units to 6,822 units and export sales trebled and grew by 197.0% to 196 units (66). 

The light-weight tractor (26.4 tons < GVW ≤ 40 tons) segment saw sales dip 1.6% to 698 units in the Q3:21/22 from 709 units in the Q3:20/21, but production reflected perhaps the downward market trend by falling by 17.6%.
