Light truck market in Q3:21/22 declines 8.5% in India

India - Sales of LCV goods carrier (truck) vehicles (gvw ≤ 7.5t) fell by 8.5% to 127,213 units in Q3 of FY 2021/22 from 139,041 units in same period of FY 2020/21. Production of these trucks also decreased but by a slightly greater margin of -12.5%; exports bucked the trend by rising by 56.3% to 16,886 (10,806).
The largest segment, GVW ≤ 2t, domestic sales saw volume fll by 4.4% to 49,372 units in Q3 of FY2021/22 compared with 51,671 units in Q3 the fiscal year before. Production decreased by 11.8% but export sales rose by 18.4% to 2,740 (2,314).
