Cummins acquires Jacobs Vehicle Systems

USA – Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana, has announced the signing of an agreement to acquire Bloomfield, Connecticut-based Jacobs Vehicle Systems Inc¹ from parent group Altra Industrial Motion Corp. Operations from the acquisition will report into the Cummins Turbo Technologies business unit within the firm’s Components segment.

Cummins stated it believes engine braking and cylinder deactivation technologies will be key components to meeting emissions regulations, with the acquisition allowing the firm to better integrate componentry into its medium and heavy-duty engines.
