Germany Daimler AG, a parent of several automotive brands under the ‘Mercedes-Benz’ name based in Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg, has officially changed its name to Mercedes-Benz Group AG, effective 1 February 2022.

The change reflects the company’s renewed focus on passenger cars and vans in the luxury and premium segment which have historically been sold under the Mercedes-Benz brand. Ola Källenius, Chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-Benz Group, stated that the company would also focus its attention on e-mobility and vehicle software. Daimler Mobility, which offers financial, leasing, and insurance services, has accordingly changed its name to Mercedes-Benz Mobility.
