Daimler Truck, NextEra and BlackRock announce plans to accelerate US public charging infrastructure

USA – Daimler Truck North America LLC of Portland, Oregon, NextEra Energy Resources LLC of Juno Beach, Florida, and BlackRock Real Assets of New York, have signed a memorandum of understanding to initiate a joint venture for the design, development, installation, and operation of a nationwide charging network for medium and heavy-duty electric vehicles in the US.

The JV’s start of operations is planned for later in 2022, with initial funding expected to be comprised of around USD650 million, divided equally among the three parties. The firms plan to build a network of charging sites across the east and west coasts as well as in Texas by 2026. Construction of the first sites is set to begin in 2023.
