CaetanoBus zero emission buses to be co-branded Toyota and Caetano

Portugal – Bus and coach builder, CaetanoBus SA of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal has announced it will be co-branding its zero emission buses with Toyota. This move follows the bus builder’s change in share ownership in December 2020 whereby Toyota Motor Europe NV/SA owns an indirect stake in the company through Toyota Caetano Portugal (TCAP) – see diagram below.

CaetanoBus currently offers two fully built zero emission buses, the e.City Gold, a 100% battery electric city bus, and the H2.City Gold, its hydrogen powered electric bus for which Toyota supplies the hydrogen fuel cell technology. (It also produces battery-electric chassis for use by other body builders – although this is not included in the co-branding initiative). Through this enhanced strategic alliance, Toyota Motor Europe aims to expand its commercial zero-emission mobility by leveraging CaetanoBus’ long-standing bus business and recent strong efforts in the development and sales of zero-emission buses.
