Mack Trucks release new-generation electric refuse truck

USA – Mack Trucks Inc, a subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Greensboro, North Carolina, have announced that the new generation of ‘LR Electric’ Class 8 refuse trucks is now available to order.
The new generation of trucks boast 42% more energy than the previous iteration, with 4 NMC (nickel manganese cobalt oxide) lithium-ion batteries providing a total energy capacity of 376 kWh. Two electric motors and a 2-speed Mack Powershift transmission offer continuous power of 448 hp and 4,051 lb-ft of peak output torque. The truck is also fitted with Mack’s own ‘mRIDE’ suspension and S462R 46,000lb rear axles.
