Navistar to integrate Virtual Vehicle data platform with its telematics service

USANavistar International Corporation, a truck and bus manufacturer based in Lisle, Illinois, has announced that, in 2023, it will expand the functionality of its OnCommand Connection telematics service by integrating it with a vehicle data platform developed by software company Platform Science of San Diego, California. 

‘Virtual Vehicle’ is an open OEM platform that enables access to real-time vehicle data and third-party applications directly from the onboard telematics already installed in the vehicle. Jake Fields, co-founder and Chief Technology Officer of Platform Science, explained:
