USA / Japan – Nashville, Tennessee-based subsidiary of Japan’s Bridgestone Corporation, Bridgestone Americas Inc, has made a minority investment in May Mobility, an autonomous vehicle technology firm based in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

As part of the investment, the two firms are to work to integrate Bridgestone’s digital and predictive tyre technologies into May Mobility’s autonomous vehicles. May Mobility vehicles will utilise insights derived from in-wheel sensors and proprietary Bridgestone predictive algorithms to monitor the health of tyres, including tyre pressure, temperature and tread wear, which will allow for predictive maintenance that can help improve fleet safety, efficiency and sustainability. Azuga, a cloud-based fleet mobility solution acquired by Bridgestone in 2021, will also be utilised by May Mobility to improve performance through the platform's fleet management, camera intelligence, and route planning features.
