Brazil – According to figures published by Fabus (National Association of Bus Manufacturers), Mercedes-Benz came out on top in registrations of bus and coach chassis locally manufactured in and imported to Brazil in the first quarter of 2022. Mercedes-Benz saw registrations increase by 44.5% to 1,621 units compared with the same period of 2021 (1,122 units). Volkswagen Caminhões e Ônibus was ousted from its market leading position in Q1 2021, following a 32.9% fall in registrations.

Remaining in third place, Agrale increased its sales of bus chassis by 29%. In fourth place, Volvo took the spot previously held by Iveco, though not because of a strong performance from Volvo (whose registrations dropped by 6.2%) but thanks to a poor showing during the quarter from Iveco, who saw their sales drop by 89.5%.
