MWM and Volkswagen renew partnership to manufacture MAN D08 and D26 engines in Brazil

BrazilMWM Motores Diesel Ltda of São Paulo, Brazil, a contract manufacturer of engines and power generators affiliated with the American commercial vehicle manufacturer, Navistar, and VW Caminhões e Ônibus (soon to be owned by Tupy SA - see article in this issue)  has announced the renewal of an agreement for the assembly of the MAN D08 and D26 engines that equip VW buses, medium-duty, semi-heavy and extra-heavy trucks at MWM’ s Santo Amaro plant. 

The renewed engine assembly partnership will continue to be in effect until December 2027. So far, more than 200,000 MAN engines have been produced at the MWM plant, equipping the VW-brand commercial vehicles sold to markets in Latin America, Africa, and Asia.
