Torc Robotics launches advisory council for autonomous trucks

By Bradley Osborne - 29th April 2022

USATorc Robotics, an autonomous driving technology company and subsidiary of Daimler Truck AG based in Blacksburg, Virginia, has established the Torc Autonomous Advisory Council (TAAC) with the aim of allowing logistics firms to guide and advise Torc Robotics as it develops its first commercialised autonomous truck.

The TAAC is intended to provide a forum for haulage companies to provide their insights into the needs of the freight industry and to support Torc Robotics in testing and validating autonomous truck operations. Members so far include firms such as Covenant Logistics, Penske Truck Leasing, and Ryder System Inc. The council recently held its first quarterly meeting at Torc Robotics’ test centre in Albuquerque, New Mexico, where delegates had the opportunity to participate in autonomous truck demonstrations.
