Shyft Group’s Blue Arc EV to be fitted with Proterra batteries

Blue Arc EV chassis fitted with Proterra batteries

USA – The new ‘Blue Arc’ brand of electric delivery vans by The Shyft Group, a parent of various specialty chassis and truck body manufacturers based in Novi, Michigan, will be powered by batteries supplied by Proterra Inc of Burlingame, California, following a multi-year agreement struck between the two companies.

The ‘Blue Arc EV Solutions’ brand was recently launched at Work Truck Week, held 8-11 March in Indianapolis, Indiana with a purpose-built modular chassis for medium-duty electric vehicles and a Class 3 delivery van (built on the same chassis) as initial product offerings. These will be powered by Proterra Powered’s H-Series battery systems, providing the Blue Arc chassis with a range between 150 and 175 miles on a single charge. The batteries will be fitted between the truck frame rails. Options to expand the battery capacity will be offered.
