Proterra facilities receive zero-waste certification

USA – Proterra Inc, an electric vehicle and battery manufacturer based in Burlingame, California, has announced that it has been awarded multiple ‘TRUE’ (Total Resource Use and Efficiency) certificates for its manufacturing facilities – a first in the electric vehicle industry, according to Green Business Certification Inc.1
The two sites to be awarded certificates were Proterra’s technology centre in Burlingame and its bus manufacturing plant in Greensboro, South Carolina. Both were judged eligible for the award following efforts to divert more than 90% of all qualified recycling, compost, and reusable materials from landfills, waste-to-energy and the environment.
