USA – Kenworth Truck Co, based in Kirkland, Washington, has broken ground on a USD45 million, 105,000 sq ft expansion to its Chillicothe manufacturing site in Ohio. The expansion represents around a 17% increase to the 622,000 sq ft Class 8 truck manufacturing plant, with the new building housing a new test building on the north side of the plant.

When completed in Q2 2023, all testing and validation will be relocated from their current sites to the new test building. The plant already holds ISO14001 certification and was awarded the 2021 Encouraging Environmental Excellence E3 Platinum Award from the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency last autumn.
