Germany – cellcentric GmbH & Co, a 50:50 joint venture between Daimler Truck AG and AB Volvo, has announced it intends to build a hydrogen fuel cell production facility in Weilheim, Germany. Construction is expected to begin in 2023.

Following a consultation with the local town, cellcentric plans on creating up to 450 jobs, with the new plant featuring man-made green spaces to compensate for the loss of land. The company plans to produce fuel cells for heavy trucks following Volvo’s investment in the firm in 2021.
