DAF to supply Otokar with 100 PACCAR MX-11 engines

Otokar's articulating Metrobus powered by PACCAR's MX-11

Turkey – The components division of DAF Trucks N.V., based in Eindhoven, Netherlands, is set to supply 100 PACCAR MX-11 engines to Turkish bus manufacturer Otokar Otomotiv ve Savunma Sanayi A.Ş. based in Sakarya. The Euro VI engines will be fitted to 100 Otokar Metrobuses (the firm’s flagship articulated bus model) which are due to be deployed in Istanbul.

The 100 Euro 6 PACCAR MX-11 engines ordered by Otokar offer 270 kW/370 hp and a torque of 1,900 Nm at 900 rpm. DAF states that a flat torque curve ensures a smooth drive and maximum passenger comfort, particularly on the hilly Istanbul bus lanes.
