Transpotec 2022: Spotlight on new EV company Evum Motors
By Bradley Osborne - 31st May 2022
Italy / Germany – The startling ambition of Evum Motors GmbH is evinced by its name. It is derived from the Latin word aevum which, among other things, means “eternity” – a grandiose claim for a company which is only five years old. But what Evum Motors may lack in experience is made up for by its sheer confidence: confidence, that is, in a unique proposition which might well sidestep and get ahead of the more conventional designs of the commercial vehicle giants.
That proposition comes in the form of the ‘aCar’, a (very) light commercial vehicle which Evum Motors puts below the 3.5t-and-above segment. It is a 4x4, with 20-kW all-wheel drive, a top speed of 70 km/h, and a payload of up to 1,100 kg. It is a versatile packhorse, fitted with a range of bodies including platforms, tippers, boxes, and more. It comes in two variants: a 2.6m overall length, and a slightly longer vehicle with an additional 90cm at the back.
