India sees tractor production and sales double in 2021/22

India - Total tractor sales near enough doubled (up 99.8%) during financial year (FY) ending March 31, 2022 (FY2021-22) to register 27,735 units, compared with 13,880 units in the previous year (FY2020-21). Tractor production rose by 100.2%, up from 14,192 units to 28,409 units, with exports up by 269.5% to 757 units.

The 26.4 < GVW ≤ 40t segment grew by 67.9% to total 3,336 units in FY2021-22; up from 1,987 units in the previous year (FY2020-21). Production in this tractor weight segment increased by 61.5% while exports grew by 766.7%.
