Meritor begins production of Power Control and Accessory System

USA – Meritor Inc of Troy, Michigan launched production of its ‘Power Control and Accessory System’ (PCAS) earlier in May, which is billed as a product which will provide “intelligent” electrification to zero-emission commercial vehicle powertrains, providing power “where needed” and control over sub-systems and accessories.
The PCAS can allow for the entire electric drivetrain to be tuned in order to balance performance, efficiency and range. PCAS functions include on-demand performance management of electric accessories; thermal management; performance optimisation through single pedal driving; torque path management; and charging management during sleep mode.
