Scania electric tractor unit with 45 R sleeper cab

SwedenScania AB, a subsidiary of the Traton Group based in Södertälje, Sweden, has announced it will be introducing a new generation of battery-electric trucks designed for regional haul, extending the range up to 350 km on a single charge. Production is slated for the end of 2023.

Scania first launched its electric truck range in September 2020, offering a range of up to 250 km when installed with nine batteries totalling up to 300 kWh of energy capacity. In future, the company will offer trucks fitted with six batteries which will provide up to 624 kWh, making them suitable for applications beyond shorter distance urban routes. The new generation will initially be available as either 4x2 tractors or as 6x2*4 rigids, coming with R or S sleeper cabs.
