Hyzon Motors announces plans to enter fuel cell retrofit market with Repower program

Hyzon will begin offering retrofit vehicles through its Repower Program

USA – Rochester, New York-based Hyzon Motors Inc has announced its new ‘Repower’ program to convert used diesel trucks into hydrogen fuel cell vehicles. The company states that it is responding to demand from customers affected by global supply chain issues. The launch of the program is expected in North America late in 2022.

Hyzon showed off a 110kW fuel cell Repower Class 8 truck at the ACT Expo in Long Beach, California. However, when the programme launches, the firm plans to utilise the 200kW fuel cell it is currently developing. Produced at Hyzon’s plant in Bolingbrook, Illinois, testing of the 200kW fuel cell is expected to end in late 2022, around the same time as the launch of Repower.
