Chief Executive Buta Atwal to leave Wrightbus at end of 2022

Buta Atwal, Chief Executive of Wrightbus

UKWrightbus, a bus manufacturer based in Ballymena, UK, has announced that its current Chief Executive, Buta Atwal, will retire at the end of the year, to be replaced by current CEO of London Electric Vehicle Company (LEVC) Joerg Hofmann.

Atwal became Chief Executive of Wrightbus in 2019 following its acquisition by Jo Bamford, who brought the struggling firm out of administration. He has since overseen the company’s transition to become a major manufacturer of zero emission buses, including the world’s first hydrogen-powered double-deckers. Atwal has now taken the decision to leave the company to pursue “personal interests”.
