Thermo King opens R&D centre for zero-emission technologies in Galway, Ireland

Thermo King R&D Center in Galway, Ireland

Ireland / Belgium Thermo King Europe, a truck-trailer refrigeration specialist based in Zaventem, Flemish Brabant, Belgium, has opened a new research and development centre adjacent to its manufacturing operations in Galway, Ireland. The move was reportedly made as part of Thermo King Corporation’s commitment to invest more than USD100m into zero-emission product development for markets in Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and North America.

The new R&D centre will employ up to 70 engineers, who will be dedicated to developing zero-emission technologies for the cold chain, or the transport refrigeration segment. Also located in Galway is an automation and robotics centre which was opened by Themo King’s parent, Trane Technologies, last year.
