Mack Trucks opens new EV training facility in Illinois, USA

USA – Mack Trucks Inc, a truck manufacturer and subsidiary of the Volvo Group based in Greensboro, North Carolina, has relocated its central U.S. vehicle training facility from Joliet to a significantly larger site in Tinley Park in the state of Illinois.
The manufacturer has signed a seven-year lease – with the possibility to renew – on a building which is located in an industrial estate just outside of Chicago. The new ‘Mack Academy’ at Tinley Park is situated in a 14,865-square-foot building, which is larger than the previous Joliet facility by approximately 5,500 square feet. Mack Trucks claims it will make use of the extra space to expand its training programmes tailored to battery-electric vehicles.
