Poland – Impact Clean Power Technology SA of Warsaw, Poland announced in June that it has begun construction of a new battery manufacturing facility which, upon completion in 2024, will increase the company’s annual production capacity to 5 GWh (compared to an approximate capacity of 365 MWh at present).
‘GigafactoryX’ will produce batteries with a range of different chemistries: lithium-titanate-oxide (LTO), lithium iron phosphate (LFP), and nickel manganese cobalt (NMC).1 Around 200 new jobs will be created by the construction of the facility. The production line will reportedly be powered by solar energy, while half of the raw materials used in battery assembly will be sustainably sourced.
