The new highly automated 16,000 sqm battery pack manufacturing facility produces lithium-ion batteries for heavy-duty applications.

The European e-bus market gathered in Bonn, Germany to test drive several OEM’s new electric bus (some articulated) offerings. T&BB was in attendance as we gathered at the Stadtwerke Bonn bus depot to begin comparison testing.

Due to the next-generation battery technology supplied by Polish battery company Impact Clean Power Technology, ADL has increased its “warrantable energy throughput” of its next-gen electric buses (Enviro400EV and Enviro100EV).

LG Energy Solution Ltd is to supply 200,000 battery cell modules over a three-year period to Impact Clean Power Technology (ICPT) for heavy-duty battery systems in commercial vehicles and other transportation vehicles.

ICPT perhaps is best described as a developer of energy storage systems for a range of heavy-duty mobile applications, including buses, trams, trolleybuses and industrial vehicles and has to date supplied customers predominantly located in Europe, New Zealand and the USA.

This vehicle has been designed and engineered in-house and with series production already started in Lambert, Scotland, the first deliveries are set for Q1 2024.

ADL delivered its first batch of next-generation Enviro500EV electric double-deck buses to Hong Kong transport operator, Kowloon Motor Bus Company (KMB). This marks ADL’s first Enviro500EV double-deck buses in the Asia-Pacific region.

Impact will manufacture complete battery systems based on a design specified by pepper motion for its electric buses and trucks.

The Slovakian start-up will collaborate with the Polish manufacturer in developing a prototype battery cell which will then be tested during 2023.

Upon completion in 2024, the Gigafactory will expand the Polish company's annual production capacity of batteries for electric buses to 5 GWh.
