Canada / USA - Following an order last year (December 16, 2021) for 165 Series-ER (Electric Range Hybrid) systems for transit buses from Mississauga Transit (aka MiWay) in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, BAE Systems Power & Propulsion Solutions (PPS) of Endicott, New Jersey, USA, has secured orders for 337 Series ER systems for a new fleet of ‘zero-emission’ capable hybrid transit buses with Toronto Transit Commission (TTC), Toronto, Ontario.

Early March saw TTC award 337 electric-hybrid transit buses powered by PPS’s Series-ER propulsion and accessory systems across two bus manufacturers, New Flyer and Nova Bus. The award from TTC represents USD59m in revenue to PPS; a long-time customer, which still has some of PPS’s Gen 1 products in service. The award from TTC also includes options for up to 1,200 additional buses. These options are available to TTC and surrounding Toronto metro area transit operators such as Mississauga Transit. (The abovementioned order in December 2021 for 165 electric hybrid systems with Mississauga Transit represents USD31m of business for PPS across deliveries in 2022 and 2023).
