2,000 Solaris electric buses contracted since 2011

The Urbino 9 LE electric, the newest model by Solaris

Poland – On 27 July, Solaris Bus & Coach sp. z o.o. of Bolechowo, Poland announced it has sold or leased 2,000 fully-electric buses from the Urbino range since the first model was launched in 2011.

The manufacturer has signed contracts with operators in over 140 towns and cities in 21 European countries since its first battery-electric city bus, the 8.9-metre Urbino electric, went on sale over ten years ago. Solaris has already delivered over 1,300 vehicles, while the remainder (~700) are on order. However, the company’s primary output is diesel buses: over 1,500 buses are manufactured by Solaris every year, of which nearly half are fully electric or hybrid electric.
