Shyft Group showcases mobile charging station

Power Cube next to a Blue Arc delivery van by Shyft Group

USA – On 21 July, specialty truck chassis and body manufacturer The Shyft Group of Novi, Michigan showcased its mobile charging station, the ‘Power Cube’, on Capitol Hill in Washington, DC to representatives from the U.S. Congress and the federal government and released further product details to the press.

The Power Cube is part of the ‘Blue Arc’ product portfolio announced at Work Truck Week in March. It is a mobile, remote-controlled charging station for commercial electric vehicles which does not need to be connected to the grid. It can store up to 3 MW of power and can recharge vehicles in 1-2 hours with Level 2 and Fast-DC charging. The Power Cube itself can be recharged either by wind, using stowable wind turbines mounted on top, or by the sun, with a solar panel array which automatically tracks sunlight for maximum exposure.
