REE Automotive and Poindexter showcase Proxima walk-in step van

The Proxima walk-in step van by REE Automotive, EAVX and Morgan Olson

Israel / USA – On 25 July, REE Automotive of Herzliya, Israel hosted the first live demonstrations and customer evaluations with its partners from JB Poindexter & Co of Houston, Texas, USA for a proof-of-concept walk-in step van built on an electric vehicle platform.

The ‘Proxima’ is a Class 5 delivery van powered by REE Automotive’s ‘P7’ modular platform. Sometimes called a “skateboard” because of its appearance, the fully-flat chassis is installed with a battery rated up to 120 kWh, providing a range of up to 370 miles.1 The walk-in step van body was built by two Poindexter subsidiaries: EAVX LLC, also based in Houston, and Morgan Olson, based in Sturgis, Michigan.
