BPW develops ePower energy recovery axle

BPW ePower regeneration axle for refrigeration trailers
Germany / UK - A new axle module, called ePower, has been developed by the BPW Group of Wiehl, Germany, for recovering energy and converting it to electricity to a refrigeration unit.
Developed under BPW’s eSolutions division, in partnership with trailer refrigeration specialist, Thermo King of Galway, Ireland, the ePower system recovers energy on the trailer by means of wheel hub generators. (This partnership was announced two years ago - see article called, TK and BPW combine resources to develop zero-emission power source for refrigerated trailers dated July 1, 2020).
