Caio and CaetanoBus start demonstrations of its 12-metre zero-emission city bus in São Paulo

Brazil / Portugal - May 2022 saw the start of on-road live demonstrations of the new Caio (body) / Caetano (chassis)-built battery electric low floor 12-metre city bus in São Paulo, Brazil, according to Nuno Lago de Carvalho, chief commercial officer at Caetano Bus, based in Nova de Gaia, Portugal.
The battery electric bus is a Caetano EV e.CC 121L combined with a body CAIO MILLENNIUM BRT body. It is a low floor, three door city bus with a 350kwh battery pack. The new vehicle is already approved by SP Trans in Soa Paulo and is fully homologated in Brazil. The new vehicle is the culmination of a collaboration partnership between bus body builder, Caio Induscar Indústria de Carrocerias Ltda (Caio) of Botucatu, State of São Paulo and CaetanoBus SA of Vila Nova de Gaia, Portugal that was initiated in 2018 but then was delayed almost two years due to Covid.
