BPW's eTransport electric axle for trucks between 5.5t and 7.5t gvw
Germany / UK – At the CV show at the end of May saw BPW UK Ltd of Leicester, UK (a subsidiary of BPW Group of Wiehl, Germany) display the eTransport axle, an axle with integrated electric drive for distribution vehicles, and announce it is now production-ready for trucks between 5.5t and 7.5t gvw.
The eTransport axle on display was for light/medium-duty urban distribution trucks capable of offering space and payload for goods up to 3t on a 7.5t gvw vehicle. The system is modular and is designed for vehicles from 5.5 to 26 t gvw – the eTransport axle for 5.5t to 7.5t gvw vehicles is now production ready for the marketplace. (BPW in fact will start production for the new BAX light duty truck, a joint venture between itself and an undisclosed OEM.
