VDL Citea e-buses cover 200 million kilometres in Europe

Netherlands – VDL Bus & Coach BV of Valkenswaard, Netherlands has announced its range of electric buses have collectively travelled over 200 million kilometres since the first iteration was introduced in 2013.
VDL reached its first major milestone in February 2020, when its ‘Citea’ electric buses passed the 50-million-kilometre mark. Exactly a year later, they surpassed 100 million kilometres. Now, another year and a half later, this is doubled to 200 million. The vast majority of kilometres covered by Citea electric buses were on VDL’s home territory, the Netherlands, where approximately 650 buses are operating in 35 cities. Germany and Scandinavia are also key markets for VDL, where 358 and 250 buses are currently operating, respectively.
