Cummins completes acquisition of Meritor

USA – Cummins Inc of Columbus, Indiana has announced that it has completed its acquisition of Meritor Inc of Troy, Michigan, a manufacturer of drivetrain, mobility, braking, and electric powertrain components for commercial vehicles.
Engine-manufacturer Cummins announced its intention earlier in the year to take over Meritor’s business, which complements Cummins’ intention to become a “leading provider of integrated powertrain solutions” for combustion engines and electric drivelines. It also sees considerable growth potential in Meritor’s axle and braking products on the global market.
