Germany / TaiwanFEV Group GmbH, an engineering consultancy firm based in Aachen, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany, and ProLogium Technology Co Ltd, a battery manufacturer based in Taoyuan, Taiwan, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding for the joint development of solid-state battery systems for various applications, including commercial electric vehicles.

FEV has agreed to support ProLogium in the development and sale of solid-state batteries to the global market. It will give ProLogium access to its battery development and test centre in Sandersdorf-Brehna, Saxony-Anhalt, Germany – near the city of Leipzig – which FEV claims is the largest such independent centre in the world. Called ‘eDLP’, the facility was opened in 2008 and comprises a 12,000m2 building with capabilities for electrical, environmental, mechanical, safety, and abuse tests.
