Scania announces Silvio Munhoz as new head of commercial operations in Brazil

Brazil - Silvio Munhoz is the new general director of Scania’s commercial operations at Scania do Brasil Ltda in São Bernardo do Campo, São Paulo, Brazil. He will report to Mats Gunnarsson, executive vice president of global commercial operations, who is based at the headquarters in Sweden. Munhoz, who was previously director of sales of solutions at Scania, will also continue in this role until a replacement is appointed. 

With 35 years of experience in the automotive industry, Munhoz is a mechanical engineer with an MBA from the Ross School of Administration at the University of Michigan and joined Scania in 1998 as director of truck sales for the Brazilian market. In 2003, he assumed the general management of the largest Scania dealer in the world, Codema, in São Paulo. Subsequently, in 2006, he took over the general management of parts and services for Latin America. From 2008 to 2013, he was General Manager of Scania in Chile. In 2014 he was responsible for urban bus sales for the Americas region and in January 2015, he became Scania's bus sales director in Brazil. In April 2018, he was appointed Scania's truck and bus sales director in Brazil. In 2021, the company changed the sales’ role name to sales of solutions, and encompassed sales solutions for mobility (buses), for transport (trucks) and power (engines).
