UK – The Scottish Government, a devolved administration within the UK, has announced it will be providing GBP28m over the next four years to support manufacturing and deployment of zero-emission heavy-duty vehicles1 in Scotland.

The ‘Zero Emission Mobility Innovation Fund’ is targeted at manufacturers who are based in or operating in Scotland and are conducting research and development into new zero-emission technologies. Up to GBP5m a year will be made available to companies able to demonstrate a proof-of-concept vehicle, component or system which is ready for low-volume manufacturing. Transport Scotland gives as example projects: a new manufacturing process for a zero-emission refuse collection vehicle, new tooling to support fuel cell development for niche light commercial vehicles, and a project to test and manufacture transport technology developed at a university innovation centre or test facility.
