EKA by Pinnacle Mobility receives certification from ARAI for 9m electric bus

India – The electric vehicle manufacturing division, Pinnacle Mobility Solutions Pvt Ltd of Pune, a subsidiary of Pinnacle Industries, has received certification for its 9m electric bus, EKA E9, from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI). The certificate means the vehicle now complies fully with India’s Central Motor Vehicle Rules (CMVR) as set out by the Ministry of Road Transport Highways (MoRTH) and that Pinnacle can now start trials of the EKA E9 in cities across India. Pinnacle has now provided some additional details about the vehicle to that last published in the May 2022 edition of T&BB.
The EKA E9 is built using a monocoque design comprising a stainless-steel chassis and composite body structure. EKA E9 is powered by a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) with a maximum power of 200 KW and maximum torque of 2500 Nm. EKA E9 comes with re-generative braking system.
