Maxion Wheels to help promote sustainable practices in aluminium and steel industries

Germany – Maxion Wheels GmbH, a subsidiary of Iochpe-Maxion based in Königswinter, North Rhine-Westphalia, has joined two not-for-profit organisations – the Aluminium Stewardship Initiative (ASI) and ResponsibleSteel – which promote sustainable practices in the aluminium and steel industries.
Made up of industry stakeholders, both ASI and ResponsibleSteel aim to establish global standards and certification for the sustainable sourcing and production of aluminium and steel respectively. The process of extracting and manufacturing metals to supply the automotive industry is carbon intensive.
