Bridgestone Americas' guayule farm in Arizona

USABridgestone Americas Inc, the Nashville, Tennessee-based subsidiary of Japanese tyre manufacturer Bridgestone Corporation, has announced it will be investing USD42m to plant and harvest guayule – a sustainable source of natural rubber for tyres – at scale.

The sum of USD42m represents an initial investment to establish commercial operations in the southwest United States, with additional money to follow up to 2030. The company plans to plant up to 25,000 acres, with 350 acres to be planted in central Arizona in the next year. Bridgestone hopes to begin sustainable commercial production of natural rubber sourced from guayule by the end of the decade.
