Mercedes-Benz do Brasil expands bus chassis exports to South Africa

Brazil / South Africa - Mercedes-Benz do Brasil Ltda of São Bernardo do Campo (São Paulo State) has announced its sales of front engine bus chassis (OF 1726 and OF 1730 chassis) to South Africa from Brazil has been increasing substantially this year with sales of more than 150 units between January and August.

It says it has been working closely with Putco Ltd, which Mercedes-Benz states is the largest in the charter segment in South Africa, with more than 230,000 passengers transported daily. Last year, 100 units of the OF 1726 were delivered to the company. The chassis are assembled by Mercedes-Benz South Africa Ltd of East London, and then bodied by Marcopolo South Africa Pty Ltd in Johannesburg.
