Peterbilt launches special edition Model 389X

The Model 389X by Peterbilt

USAPeterbilt Motors Company, a subsidiary of Paccar based in Denton, Texas, has launched a special edition model of the heavy-duty Model 389 truck range with a distinctive black design.

The ‘389X’, available in day cab or 72”/78” Sleeper configurations, is a limited-run model of only 1,389 units, available to order from Peterbilt dealers. The hood features a polished centreline trim, side-hood chrome accents and fenders surrounding a classic louvered grille sheet which was inspired by the first 1939 Peterbilt. Other exterior features include polished cowl skirts, battery box, fuel tanks, sun visor, bumper and 7” chrome exhaust stacks. The exterior cab is accented by LED amber-coloured light strips in the air cleaners and under the rocker panels. Inside the cab, the dash panels feature a ‘Black Pearl’ burl woodgrain finish, and black trimming and chrome throughout.
